I rescued a 10 month old Yorkie recently who had terribly dry and itchy skin especially near his tail. I found a medicated conditioning shampoo to bathe him with and I don't over bathe him either and this has seemed to work. I do this once a month or when he gets very smelly
Over praising and rewarding when they do go outside to pee has worked wonders for me and Louie. Although he is still having the odd "accident" indoors he knows that if he goes outside he will get good praise and a chocolate drop
The main thing is to be patient and keep up with the training they are a very strong minded breed, this is my second Yorkie
