Melissa, I know what you mean about Belle I have a girl Olivia who I got from my mentor and I tried showing her, needless to say the only part about showing she liked was walking around the ring. Judges, show site noises she disliked it all. So now she is shaved down and happy as can be for someone else to do the showing. My only advice is to start getting to know someone at the shows and cultivate a friendship. then when your ready that person will more than likely help you get started. When I first started showing I didn't have great dogs to take in the ring but that was my learning process. Cindy Mattoni took me under her wing and I am forever grateful to her that she did. I have learned alot more within the last 2 years than I knew before and have made some really great friends along the way. I am still learning and I think that is as it should be. Once you think you know all there is to know about showing you may as well stop because your only hurting yourself and the breed.
