They make tile that looks like wood. Maybe an option? I see what you mean about the different angle though. Personally, for that reason alone, I would probably go with a tile that blends with the wood color. Something in a tan/brown color with grout color to match (NOT white grout). If you go with a lighter tile (white or cream) then it really stands out more and you need to blend the rooms. Good luck!
