I am sorry that Kai is so sick. I finally ended up putting up a gate to block Buster's access to the kitchen when I am cooking or he is unsupervised. I jokingly say his middle name is "leave it" as he is constantly on the hunt for something to snack on that might have dropped when I am preparing food. I would recommend getting a probiotic to give Kai after he comes home. It will help reestablish a healthy digestive tract after the antibiotics and food poisoning. I use
Jarrow Formulas : Pet Dophilus and if you search thru YT you will find other suggestions. I make Buster a cocktail of the pet Dophilus, fish oil, and water. His coat is shiny and his poop is firm.

Sending prayers for Kai's continued improvement and hugs to Mendomanda. I never realized how many everyday items were so dangerous until Buster came into my life. I had a terrible episode with Buster and sugarless chewing gum (xylitol) and while at the ER vet's that night saw another dog that was very sick from chocolate.
Best wishes to you and Kai.
