Everytime he sees a moose track, or something he believes is a moose track, he buries his head in the snow and digs. He's even gotten good at spotting them. I took a look at your pics you posted. That's so cool!! When Merlot and I lived in McGrath he would always alert me to the moose in the yard. He goes more bezerk over them than any other animal. I wonder if it's because they are so big. A couple of times he has saved us. We walked at all times of the day and night because I work shift work. A couple of times Merlot would sound off right before we walked into a few of them! That's something I don't miss about AK!!
