I too am sorry your family didn't reach out to you. I know first hand how hard it is to lose a furbaby. I did wonder the same thing. I think some people just don't know what to say. That's not to make an excuse but I know I have lost and find it hard sometimes to say the right thing.
The good thing is here we all know how you feel and can support you.
