All puppies nip while playing...that's how they play with their litter mates. This is what I do....when playing with my puppy and they start to nip, I use a firm NO! and remove my hand. If they persist then I cease playing for a few minutes. They learn that playtime ends if they get too rough. Also, keep a small toy handy. Another technique I use is when they start nipping, I say NO! and hand them the toy. So they learn what not to bite AND what is okay to bite(their toy). It takes time and consistency but they do get it Make sure everyone in the house uses the same technique or pup will get confused and nothing will get accomplished.
