I use Photoshop Elements II (the very basic program vs. Photoshop 7 or CS). I go to Target & pick up some small colored envelopes & then size my cards just under the dimensions of the envelopes. I print the cards out on Canon matte photo paper which is very cheap but very good picture quality. Sometimes I print a message on the inside of the card. It really is simple - I just played around on the program until I got what I wanted. The options are limitless. (I am by no means a whiz on the computer - I taught myself how to do this - so you know it has to be simple!!
