Black bears are pretty harmless unless they have a cub. They do get into garbage but a regular sized dog can chase them off pretty easily. My brother in law lives farther up in the hills than I do and he has them going through the backyard quite often. Certainly not someone you want hanging out in the suburbs.
In some states they have to dart them and take them to a new location quite often.
The mountain lions and the bob cats can really be dangerous around live stock. It's a shame. There are not many of them left in the wild. |
