We put baby diapers on our yorkie and maltese when they are in season. Since the kids don't want to mess with the diapers, they just leave them in the diapers until we come home and a lot of times they have already peed in their diaper. That has never been a problem. I had one poop in the diaper before, but it has stayed real close to where it comes out and hasn't really caused a big mess. I wish you and Nikki the best.
