Oops I guess i sounded a little like an infomercial! I was just trying to be precise, I shall try to remember in the future not to name names.
My favorite tip is this: Put on your tennis shoes, even if you don't run or walk. Putting on the workout shoes and clothes is half the battle. Once you have the stuff one, the exercise is the easy part.
As far as general tips, here are a few; Sometimes it is good to treat the weight loss and new nutritional goals like a new business. Spend time reading running magazines or nutritional magazines for reinforcement, set reasonable goals like you would write a business plan and perhaps run or fast walk a 5k (to begin with). It is really empowering to be out there with a bunch of other people all chasing the same thing; good health and fitness. Take the stairs. Always. Those calories burned really add up!
Nuts. Someone else mentioned them. Eat them. Six to seven almonds make a great snack. They are really good and really good for you in those quantities. Water. Water. Water. Drink as much as you can throughout the day. Your body and intestines will love you for it. Carbonated drinks....no. Stay away from them as well as alcohol. Wine was the hardest thing for me to give up in the name of weight loss. I used to drink about two to three glasses a day. Now I will barely have one glass of wine a week. Life isn't any less sweet. |
