I'm pretty sure his decison to cut her throat sealed his deal as so much about charging an attacker goes to their intent. Now if they could get him on
first-degree attempted murder, that carries a minimum of 15 to life I think. Then add on his past bad acts of attempted murder and this guy might be toast for the most of the rest of his sorry life.
