Unlove Domestic Abuse Case

I've thought long and hard about posting this thread.

Please join me in praying for a member of my church.

She has recently become a victim of domestic violence. About three weeks ago, we received a call that a member of our church was in ICU and wasn't expected to make it through the day. It was Saturday morning and she had asked her live in boyfriend to move out the day before. Well on Saturday morning they woke up she asked him again to leave and he just snapped. He cut her throat from nearly ear to ear, then began stabbing her. Her two children who were at home tried to stop him, they are ages 3 and 14 both girls. When they couldn't get him off of her one ran next door and got a neighbor who was finally able to get him off of her. They rushed her by car to the hospital where they were told that she had been stabbed a total of 18 times and had her throat cut.

We of course rushed over to be with family and friends and were all praying.

We then get a call that her nephew who works at the jail had been sent home for jumping on and beating the man up when he was brought into the jail because he came in smiling at the young man as if he didn't just nearly kill his aunt.

She has survived and came to church this past Sunday after getting out of the hospital. Thank God she made it. But she still has at least two more surgeries she will need to repair damage done to her hand and arm.

Even though her physical wounds are healing I fear that it will be a very long time for her emotional wounds and scars to heal, not just hers, but her two young daughters as well who witnessed and tried to stop it.

When she hugged me Sunday she couldn't stop crying and it broke my heart. He had never hit her before this day, but sadly he had beaten another woman badly before and left her for dead. He served only a year and a half for that.
She just never thought it would happen to her.

Please keep her and her children in your prayers. This incident has really impacted our community and church but that's nothing compared to what they must be feeling having gone through this.
I did encourage her that as soon as she has healed up more, that we will get her and the children in counciling.
Thanks for reading I know it's long, but I really wanted to share this and ask my new YT family to help us pray for and encourage them.
