You did the right thing by contacting the shelter. Hopefully the Safe Haven will follow through and be an advocate for her and have the owners take care of her needs or surrender the dog to them to be adopted.
I see their site states that if an adoptable animal is not reclaimed, the animal may be transferred to another animal shelter or rescue for adoption, or adopted as a companion in a suitable home.
Thanks YazminD. I am trying not to, but it is hard. The shelter still has her listed on their web page with the photo my dh sent. They have her listed as a puppy 1 year or less??? I am definitely going to follow up and just make sure the shelter is checking on her. I would give her a home without a second thought if she ends up back at the shelter.

It breaks my heart to know that many dogs do not get the same love and care that I give to my Tinkerbell. I will never understand those types of people.
