No, Vicki, you are not a worry wart. I thought the same thing. If they don't have a car that runs, can they even afford the vet care she needs to remove the rotten teeth.
OP- did the rescue provide you with a picture of her so that you could know it was a match, or did they just tell you it was a match? I'm thinking that this surely must have been a reputable rescue group. Seems like they really cared about getting her home. You did a good deed, and the world needs more angels like you. You just may have a future in fostering.
