I just want my little girl to quit feeling so bad down "there"!
All pups are different about their anal glands. With one of mine, they can be almost bursting and the pup acts fine. My other one, if she gets the slightest bit of fullness, she won't eat and just lays about looking totally miserable. So it really depends on the dog.

Also, after the surgery, all the drugs/anesthesia, fasting, lack of exercise, etc. can play havoc with the anal glands, as the poop moving through is what causes them to empty on their own. After surgery of any kind, I put mine on a bland diet for a few days, just to make it easier on their system. I don't know if your vet suggested this for her or not. It won't hurt to do chicken and rice till she's feeling a bit better.
