Welcome. Congratulations on your new baby. What a sweet back story! Sometimes it's just meant to be! I hope you can post some pics of Gracie too. Everybody loves to see them.

Is Gracie potty trained? There is tons of info on that topic here. Also, you probably have to live with each other for a little while to see her true personality come out. Then, you'll have plenty to ask for sure!
Be sure you feed her a quality dry food. Give her plenty of your time and love and you'll be rewarded with a truely devoted companion and lots of tongue kisses!
