I do have fenugreek got it in a puppy rescue kit I bought. I just wonder if its a good idea to use since she had a section. I know you have to be extremely careful with herbal supplements and sections.
On a positive note had our afternoon weigh in and everyone has gained. 1 pup is 5.2 one is 5.0 one is 4.6 and the others are 4.5. I finally heard from my mentor she was whelping a difficult litter and couldn't answer the phone. She said her section girls can be very slow at getting a nice milk supply. And to supplement only if pups are losing....or weakening or dehydrating...suckling stimulates milk supply. With as much as these guys nurse she shbould be able to nurse a dozen soon.
Thanks carmen....everyone can always count on you to give a quick and speedy response. I appreciate it very much.
QUOTE=carmen in nj;4029908]if she was mine , I would give her some fenugreek , I had never used it with my girls, because my girls have always produced good ammounts of milk, but I know breeders that swear by it.

The canine repro group I subscribe to recommends adding fenugreek to the moms diet. You start out with a couple of capsules and increase daily until she smells like maple syrup!
It is available at health food stores and perhaps at your local pharmacy.
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum). Fenugreek seed has been used to increase milk production since biblical times. The herb contains phytoestrogens, which are plant chemicals similar to the female sex hormone estrogen. A key compound, diosgenin, has been shown experimentally to increase milk flow.(0)[/QUOTE]
