Your reply made me giggle, I can sure relate, as I have 4. I could never take all 4, and if I only took one, the others would be so jealous they'd never forgive me.
I think overall dogs are happier at home than in a carrier or shopping cart, and certainly would never tie them to anything (that is absurd), and leaving them in the car is cruel and illegal.
