Until I started getting flu shots a few years back I usually spent most of the winter catching every strain of flu out there.

I have definitely had some reactions to the shot. I imagine that is because each year the content of the shot changes to accomodate the different strains of flu going around..I have had very sick to no reaction. This year I had, other than a sore arm, no reaction at all. Whatever my reaction it usually passed within 24 hours.

If I do get the flu now it is short lasting and symptoms are not as bad without it. Keep in mind that the flu is NOT the same as a stomach virus. Last winter I had an awful stomach virus, 4 days in the bathroom and 5 days down...awful...other years the flu shot did NOT contain the correct antibodies and everyone got sick...

All in all I still highly recommend the flu shot, it has definitely worked for me.
