She cautioned us that if he ever gets sick we will be in trouble, because he doesn't have the fat reserves etc. of a "regular" two year old and that we would end up in the hospital with IV's and a feeding tube. We've had a few close calls so we follow her recommendations. We are also fortunate that everyone close to us family, church members etc. that know what's going on with him also take the shot and are careful not to come around him if they are sick. I just wish more people would be that considerate. I've had complete strangers walk up to him and want to shake his hands talk etc, when they are clearly ill. We all keep sanitizer on us and as soon as people touch his hands and turn away we break it out. I never want to be rude but I really don't think people think sometimes about other people's health. |
I am sorry your son is sick. And I completely understand why you, your famil and anyone around him would. I personally would be nice about it but I would tell people that to please not touch your son and if they are sick not to come around. You are not being rude. You are just concerned about the welfare of your son. and anyone that does not understand that, they are the rude one.
