I have a two year old, that doesn't eat food ( long story ) he survives mostly on pedia sure like 7 to 8 bottles a day. We are trying to prevent having to put a feeding tube in. Anyway his pediatrician recommend that he get the flu shot and also that everyone in our household get it. She cautioned us that if he ever gets sick we will be in trouble, because he doesn't have the fat reserves etc. of a "regular" two year old and that we would end up in the hospital with IV's and a feeding tube. We've had a few close calls so we follow her recommendations. We are also fortunate that everyone close to us family, church members etc. that know what's going on with him also take the shot and are careful not to come around him if they are sick. I just wish more people would be that considerate. I've had complete strangers walk up to him and want to shake his hands talk etc, when they are clearly ill. We all keep sanitizer on us and as soon as people touch his hands and turn away we break it out. I never want to be rude but I really don't think people think sometimes about other people's health.
