Default Blood spotting after enema

My Howie had his anal glands expressed last week and this week we had to take him to the vet because he was acting so strange. He would run and hide from us and shriek when we would pick him up and would start shivering. Obvious signs of pain so we took him in and got some xrays done and it turns out he is constipated. The xray showed how much stool he had stuck in him so was given an enema and he pooped most out (the vet told me, I didn't see). Once I took him home, 2 hours later, he began licking at his anus very desperately. He kept running from place to place licking and scratching. Clearly uncomfortable. Then I put a warm towel on his anus to try and relieve him and when I took it off, I noticed red spotting of a dark liquid with blood. Not a lot but still enough for me to be concerned so I called the vet and they told me it was normal as long as it wasn't just blood leaking out. That was about 5 hours ago and he keeps spotting blood mixed with brown fluids. He is not as uncomfortable but still wanting to lick every so often. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM??? PLEASE HELP!
