Yes they can have strokes. My late Audrey had one.

But it doesn't sound like Ally had a stroke. Like the others have said, I think it was over excitement about the squirrels. I know my Allie is obsessed with those darn things, and she will stand and dance back and forth as if she is ready for a race. LOL
