I agree, and in fact the minimum is 12 weeks. Mom's stop nursing before this, but during those next few weeks, mom teaches the beginning of house breaking and inhibition of the biting reflex. People who buy their pups early often have a bigger problem with housebreaking and biting. I would run from any breeder who wanted to sell their dogs before 12 weeks. Toy breeds need to stay with mama longer. Good luck in your search!
