Estate sales!......much better than garage sales down here....you can get magnificent stuff for pennies on the dollar...also check out Aaron Rents Furniture....or whatever you have up there that rents furniture....they sell the furniture that has been rented out for long periods of time, or furniture that is worn. After my divorce, when I walked away without a dime in my purse or bank account, that is where I got a dining room set...the table was in great shape, and the chairs only needed reupholstering.....SOOOOOO SIMPLE!!!!......I polished the table with Olde English Scratch Cover, and it looked like very well kept furniture! It was dirt cheap! I also got 4 bar stools that I have to this day!!!! Anna's Linens for shower curtains, shower rods, shower curtain rings,....But CAUTION!! I bought some really pretty towels from there, and they came apart after 3 washes....I have towels I bought at JC Penny when I got married in 1970...they are a little thread bare, but by golly, they look better than those raggedy! So be careful buying cheap towels....it is tough to beat Home Depot or Lowes for garbage cans, shelving, storage cabinets.....scope out scratch and dent appliances....Shower curtains are less expensive that drapes, and can be used very effectively in your windows! 1" dow rods are cheaper than curtain rods, and you can buy fenials to go on the end. Curtain rings are cheaper than curtain rings....For art work for your walls....a pretty patterned wall paper, either a scene or a design that appeals to you, can be mounted on poster board and framed.....I got wall paper that had all kinds of pretty colored salt water fish....I pit a frame around the fish that I liked, drew a line around the inside of the frame and cut the fish out...5 different fish, different sizes and some square, some square, and grouped them together in my bathroom which I did in a beach motif....underwater scene puzzle that my son put together and I coated it with Elmers white glue, glued it to poster board and framed it...sea shells from the beach are cheap! Put them is a really great sale priced vase from Hobby Lobby or Michaels....just some ideas.....when YOU decide what YOU want to decorate in, let us know! We can help!!
