I've actually seen some pretty sweet new-looking furniture at thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. You have to keep looking every couple of days, but there are some nice deals to be had at those places, and it's fun to look anyway. I also agree with HomeGoods, they have nice, upscale looking things for very reasonable prices
