These dogs are so cute it is difficult to make them look bad. Your little guy is adorable. Since there is no standard "puppy cut" you really have to be specific when you go to the groomer. It looks like your groomer cut most everything short on your little guy. I think that is what most groomers tend to do. It is easier to just cut everything about the same length than to fuss with trying to get a certain look.

I guess you need to look at the dogs of the people who recommend a groomer to you. Do they get their dogs bathed and shaved or do they have a special look? It seems the majority of pet owners only take their dogs to the groomer when they need the bathe and shave done so that is what most groomers are best at doing and they assume that is what most clients want. I understand the rounded look you were looking for but it appears your groomer did not. If you give more specifics next time and still get the same result then I would find a new groomer.

The first time I took Gracie to a groomer at about 6 months the lady did a great job. The second time I took her I told the woman specifically what i wanted done. It was not a complicated request. I just did not want her topknot touched, I wanted her feet and body length trimmed up with her face rounded out. When I picked her up they had cut her topknot and did not even bother to even off her length and round up around her face. I had even left the grooming bands and the new bow I had just bought for her! Needless to say we never went back there again.
