teaching the "leave it" command is really helpful.
to begin teaching this take 2 treats put one in a hand behind your back, tell your pup to sit , put the other treat on the floor in front of him, and say "leave it" if he sits still for even a second say "good leave it" and at the same time give him the treat from the hand behind your back...
just keep practicing this and soon he will sit still for longer periods...
eventually you will be able to use this command when he gets an object you do not want him to have
