Glad you're checking with the vet, but it's important we don't put human needs on dogs. Dogs don't really understand what they had yesterday, whereas we can remember it. Seriously, he has no idea if you feed him the same thing every day. Of course, there are foods that he'll like better, but his health is more important than a food that lasts less than a minute. Since this type of liver shunt can't be corrected by surgery, it’s really important that his diet doesn’t put ANY stress on his liver. Best of luck, I know you love your baby, but tough love may be the way to go.
