Good luck with potty training. Pads can work well, and in combination with outdoor pottying. It is important in the beginning not to let your pup have freedom to roam the house, until he gets reliable with using the pads.

They often tend to confuse a rug or bathmat for the pad, and go there.

I have 4 doggies, and they don't seem to mind sharing pads, and there are often 4 pee spots on one; though I pick up poo and flush it asap.
