Moo gets the same thing on her belly but this time she broke out all over.
She has been on 3 month long rounds of prednisone, I have tried zyrtec which did nothing and she takes benadryl daily now which only helps until it wears off. She has been allergy tested, for what ever that is worth, she is on a grain free, potato free, rosemary free organic raw diet...no treats other than veggies once in a while...no meds or chemicals go in or on her, we don't spray the yard, I don't use chemicals in the house or on the floors, no fabric softener on her blankets or bed, she doesn't go out to other places to run around and she has no fleas or ticks...we've checked. She has good bloodwork, thyroid is normal and so is her white blood count, kidneys, liver etc...she'll be fine one day and the next she'll be broke out all over her belly again even though nothing has changed.
I just bought a bottle of Zymox medicated shampoo but I'm not sure that has helped too much.
After reading about chiggars this morning we gave her a bath in Dawn.
I've been told to give her probiotics to help build her immune system.
My next move is to have a skin scraping done to see if she has some kind of mite or something going on that we can't see. But if it was mites wouldn't the breakouts be constant? She will break out and it clears up for a while then she breaks out again.
I know this is bad on her but it's awful frustrating for me too... I want to help her but it seems no matter what I do it's only temporary. |
