AMEN to the entire above post, but especially to the underscored part! Misdiagnosis, incorrect management of illness, etc.....
And incorrect management by the owner which may not be their fault. It scares the heck out of me about all the recalled and dangerous dog food and treats sold in pet stores that are causing illness and even deaths in pets which would not be the owners fault. I give a two page write up to my puppy buyers about do's and don'ts along with any dog or puppy purchased and keep in touch with that owner to also warn them about any problems I hear about It is not always the owners fault but I certainly am likely to hear about things to avoid moreso than the average pet owner. And I encourage my purchasers to get in touch with me anytime with any problems questions etc.
