Your door trim matches ours! You are lucky... It's not painted. We are having to strip years and years of paint off of ours

I think some sort of tile would be nice? I agree, wood might look a little odd next to the original hardwood. I really like penny tile (in white would look nice?). For a laundry room, I think some sort of tile would be ideal so you could mop if needed.
