There are some good ones with good owners but the frightening reality is so many have very bad genetic lineage with fighters/over-aggression emphasized and some of those tend to go postal and sustain attacks until death. Unless I could find one from a breeder who opened her breeding books to me or somehow I could know I was getting one without even the possibility of a recessive over-aggression/fighting genetic heritage of even one dog, I will just have to want one. I doubt any breeder of pits could satisfy/overcome my worry. The last thing I want is a dog in my home that could come after me or Tibbe. But the good ones are beautiful and good animals. I'll bet we can none of us that haven't been through it ever know what it is like to lose family members due to the bully Pitbull type breed, which has such a recent history of attacks that kill & maim, once they became popular in the dog fighting circles. Before that, you never heard of them being any more violent than any type breeds or mixes.
