We live in a townhouse developement and have a postage stamp yard with a small concrete patio, a few corner flower beds, and a 6 ft privacy fence.

Occasionally the neighbor's cat from a few houses down will perch on the fence or venture in the yard, and Jaeger always alerts me and then when I let him out, he chases the cat out.

Yesterday, he went out calmly to pee, and when he was done, he started sniffing intently, then bounding around the yard in weird patterns. I finally figured out that he was tracking some small animals.

Well, he follows the scent to the corner near the house, and then he gets agitated and there's a lot of scuffling noises-he had tracked the sleeping cat and roused it! I was so amused.

Our trainer wants us to do scent work with him....wonder why, lol!
