Oh, how awful. At lease he survived the attack and if he can survive this infection, he should make it. Poor baby - it sounds like he has been and is still going through a terrible thing. I'm sure the Pitbull has been reported & quarantined, pray he was rabid and thank God your little daughter was unharmed physically, though her emotional wounds are likely bad. What an awful thing to witness. I will be praying for Gizmo and your family and that things are going to get better pretty soon. Give Giz & your daughter hugs from Tibbe and me, please.
