Congratulations, I hope you keep posting the good and bad here. Its a bit of a challenge to bring a somewhat older pup home and I very much commend you for doing so.
Remember the first few days as a new family will ultimately be his most formidable and setting guidelines and rules, very gently will put you much further ahead. Sit down and write a planned routine/schedule for those first few days, include lots of cuddling time and rewards! This will serve both of you better in the long run.
Again congrats and make sure to keep us posted and hopefully this little guy will come potty trained!!!!
