A lot of vets can do knee surgeries but I'd feel more comfortable taking my pup to a specialist. I trust my vet a lot and have full confidence in her abilities but when Toki started having hip issues, even my vet said that although she could do the surgery, she recommended that I go to speak with an orthopedic surgeon and gave me a couple different ones near us (including the one that she took her Jack Russel Terrier to for knee surgery).

Hopefully Trixie won't need surgery at this point and the medications and Cosequin along with rest will help her knee to feel better. Trixie looks like such a sweetheart
