Well, last night we went to bed at 10:00. She woke up at 11:00 (in her crate) and whined. I knew she had to pee, so I let her out, she peed and put her back in the crate. She slept 12:00, woke up and cried and whined louder and louder for an hour. I said QUIET, rattled the crate, etc. Went back to sleep, woke up at 2:30 and started all over again. So much so that my landlords (who are also my friends) could hear her in their bedroom. They are in the addition part of the house so it is NOT right near my bedroom. I heard Gerry mimicking her whining. That is how bad it was!! I cannot have this, I rent this apartment and I can't have my dog waking up my landlords all night, even if they are friends of mine and love her to death.

I ended up letting her out of crate, she ran into kitchen and started going nuts at the fridge wanting food. SO, yes I did give in and give her a tiny snack and then let her come on the bed with me. She was fine after that until 5:30 which is when she USED to eat breakfast before all this crap started. I gave her breakfast and we went back to sleep till 7:30.

I realized that I am just going to have to figure out a way we can both sleep comfortably on the bed. I am sure that there will be an adjustment period for both of us - she hasn't seemed to find the spot she likes the best. Plus, when it gets cold I am going to have to figure out how to cover her up or maybe put a sweater or pajamas on her to keep her warm because I cannot stand a hot bedroom.

I think the compromise I can make is put her in her crate when we first go to sleep at around 10:00 - 11:00 and then let her come on the bed after we both get up to pee. That way, I can have the bed to myself for a few hours, she is fine sleeping in the crate for a few hours (as a matter of fact, the times I HAVE let her on the bed right away, she did not fall asleep - she likes being in the crate for a few hours), then I can let her on the bed. She can go up and down the ramp herself to pee and poop and maybe I can just get used to all that and SLEEP until 5:30 when she needs to eat breakfast.

I AM going to have to deal with her trying to get her way and wanting a snack in the middle of the night. But it is easier to deal with her ON the bed and doing her little gyrations, than it is having her stuck in the crate, crying and making all her noises. I swear she talks and says Mummy, louder and louder and louder. I know that sounds like I am nuts, but it is true. She makes this two syllable noise that sounds EXACLY like Mummy. And she will use different tones, depending on how made she is. It is pretty funny.

Yes, she is very, very smart. And she knows that I will give in to her about this situtation. I really don't give in to her about things, but my hands are kind of tied because of the fact that she wakes up my landlords. She probably knows THAT too. ahahahahaha

I am so hoping that as she gets older, she will outgrow all this "adolescent" crap that she is pulling. At least I know that I can handle it, not like when I first got her when she was 7 months old and I was on this forum freaking out, thinking I would have to send her back because I was in New Yorkie Owner He!!. It was great to have all you guys rah, rah me and I did get through it all.

Anyway, thanks for the advice!
