Thank you all for taking the time to answer. I've never had a puppy, and all my fosters always got routine blood work done during their initial exam. Now that I think about it, I guess it was in anticipation of their spay, which I always scheduled right after their vet check. My new vet didn't do any blood work for baby Allie, and I was worried that he (the vet) was being negligent. Morgan, I agree, I think it would be a good idea, and then we could establish a baseline. Though small, baby Allie is doing great, and seems to be very healthy. Guess I'm just being a worry wart mommy.
