I am guessing that my little pup weighs about 6 1/2 pounds at 5 months. He is a wonderful size, and I'm sure he'll gain a pound or two more. Time will tell. His mother weighed 12 pounds and his father weighed 4 1/2 pounds.

My personal opinion is that any little dog less than 10 pounds is a "small dog." I wanted a small dog because I have a bad back, and I can lift this little guy easily to carry him around, bath him, etc. (I am hoping my little guy will not weigh over 7 or 8 pounds - but as we know - only time will tell.)

I also have a 21 pound "big" Bichon. He is very difficult for me to carry or bath. So, I am really enjoying my little Yorkie who is less than half that size.

And - if the "tiny" little Yorkies are fragile - believe me mine isn't. He is "hell on wheels" and "tough as nails." I tried to take something away from him the other night and I though I had started WWIII. It is amazing how strong and tenacious these little guys are. I'm sure this is the "terrier" in them.
