I just poke the pill as far back into Toki's mouth as I can get it and gently hold her head upward until she swallows it. My boyfriend's family has a huge 85 pound lab that they would make mini peanut butter sandwiches for if she had several different pills to take (they just slather peanut butter on a slice of bread, drop the pills in it and fold it in half lol)...not really an option for little doggies though
And my parents' beagle is amazing at somehow managing to remove tiny pills from mushy gobs of cheese and peanut butter so I just opt for the shove it (gently!) down the throat method
