Tibbe could spit out his tiny Interceptor pill sometimes but he gulps down his Heartguard in pieces until long gone. When he's balked at other pills, I just put some meat or liverwurst or even peanut butter around the pill or just put it down the back of his throat & hold his muzzle vertical until I see him swallow. Then he gets a praise and hugs, sometimes a treat.
