Aspirin is not the best option for older dogs, as it can cause internal bleeding. I did this twice, on my senior Yorkie and senior GSD, and within 15 minutes they each had nosebleeds.

Is your dog taking any glucosamine/chondroiten supplements? Many members have reported excellent results with these products.
