I'll set a cushiony area for him to sleep in while in there and when I'm home I'll praise him like crazy when he goes on the pad when I'm home.
He sleeps in my bed but I think I'll buy him a bed for the bathroom.
I hope this works... I've had him since he was 12 weeks and this is the first time I've found myself not knowing what else to do or how to fix this.
I would give it a try. We don't know what retrained his brain to change his habits but if he could talk, I'm sure he would give you a good dog explanation. Just change up things to reorient him and get him out of his new bad habit and give him a retraining. If he retrained himself to go on the floor, you can re-retrain him to go on pads again if you are patient and loving and work with him until he gets his new patterns established firmly in his mind. But I would have him checked first by the vet just in case a medical condition or pain of any kind is behind his change of behavior.
