My girls are 6 so they have free roam, but they had to earn that priveledge. I used to gate them into the kitchen where they had their water, pee pads, toys, and kibbles. When they got to the point where all the pee and poo was on the pad and they got free roam. Start with short periods and work up, when you feel confident that she won't chew things. My house is pretty much pup proof and geared toward their comfort Beds in every room and blankies on the sectional sofa for them. Just make sure to get down at her level and see what there is to get into and chew, and remove or secure those items. I no longer keep a box of tissues on my coffee table because Izzy would jump up there and shred them all What a mess, but funny as heck
