A friend of mine forwarded a home made solution she found on Pinterest for keeping your dogs from marking on the same spot of your carpeting if you are having this problem.

2 Cups water, 1 Tablespoon essential oil (like cinnamon oil) and 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper. Mix this up and spray the area where your dog keeps marking once a day for a week.

She also cautioned not to use this if you have cats because essential oil is deadly for cats for some reason. Have any of you heard of this or heard of this?
