Additionally, I am one of the few who eat the brains (the tamale), the roe (if I'm so lucky to get some), the water they are boiled in gets strained into the stock, etc, so I waste nothing. I think it's terrible for people to kill a lobster and just eat his tail and claw meat. What a waste.
Eeek, girl! You brave! Boy, I love the finished product! But I'll have to let others do the deed as I would just have no appetite left if I had to drop them in the boiling water & hear them struggle to escape or the death throes! Thankfully, there are plenty of fine restaurants within driving distance so I can still indulge! Same with chicken, etc. If I had to wring a chicken's neck or hack off the head, or take off it's feathes, chop it up, see all that blood, I'd have no appetite left - guess it would be a great way to lose weight. Ha! I'm so lucky to be a city girl!
