Just for now let the meds start to work. But Yorkies and Maltese both should be tested at 16wks and 6mths old for a Bile Acid Test which checks specifically for liver function.
If she is eating well, and eliminating fine, give the meds a chance to work. then see what you have to deal with in terms of her hair.
